Description

Well, my life took many turns and spiraled out of control since last year, but i'm okay now. I'm sharing an apartment with my dad in another state since july and only now i've had time to draw again. No way i can do the 365 challenge, but i'll keep drawing to see how much can i draw until the end of the year.
Had many cool art to post too, but forgot to put them in my backpack when moving, so i'll post only the stuff i'm doing here.
Aaaanyway

The Minuano
The Minuano was a tribe that, much like the Charrua, inhabited the South American Pampas, specially in Uruguay and Rio Grande do Sul. Originated from chilean Patagônia, and being more similar to the Quechua than to the Tupi-Guarani, by the 1700s southern Brazil and Uruguay weren't that colonized, with the Charrua and Minuano being the main people there until the late XVIII century.
They were a Nomad people, whose tribes were composed of up to 50 families, and probably gave a huge deal of importance to horses after the adoption of those by the tribes of the region, as they were known - acording to João Cezimbra Jaques - to be expert horsemen. In combat, they used spears, bows, slings and Bolas/Boleadeiras (the last being their invention, according to José Saldanha).
According to João Cezimbra Jaques, a riograndense traditionalist, there were nomad Minuanos until 1835, but i could not find the cause of their disappearance. I suppose that, just like most of the tribeas near the sea, the minuanos were assimilated, at least the brazilian ones. There are photos of them (my guess is that they are from early 1900s), so they did existed until very recently.
You can still find their Toldos (houses) in the brazilian city of Arroio Grande.

The drawing
In the drawing, you see a female warrior. This is historically inaccurate, given the fact that the woman was more like an housewife for them. (My decision to draw a woman was inspiration by Gambargin 's work)
Her cape is a Cayapi, a long leather cape where the fur was on the inside and the leather facing the outside. For her lower body, she wears a Chiripá, a tanga made from cotton that today is used by the Gaúcho culture. As weapons she sports only a long spear, as the depiction i've saw of their spears was a very big one, more than double the user's size. She also has supposed to have a Boleadeira on her belt, as it was very common for them to have one, but i forgot to add it on the drawing.
